With disasters becoming increasingly complex and all aspects of society being affected by the impacts of them, new challenges have been introduced. It calls for the development of transnational innovative approaches to address these issues. To approach and review both single and multi-hazard limitations from a scientific, operational and communication perspective, the University Bonn hosts the EUMA Winter School “From Single Hazards to Multi-Hazards and Systemic Risks: Scientific, Operational, and Communication Perspectives”.
This Event will take place from January 6 to January 10 2025. It offers a unique opportunity to deepen the understanding of disaster risk management and civil protection through expert-led sessions, hands-on exercises, and visits to key institutions, including an excursion to the flood-impacted Ahr Valley. Participants will engage with experts, explore real-world challenges, and gain practical insights into disaster recovery and resilience.
