About 6% of Germany’s greenhouse gas emissions come from the healthcare sector, particularly from hospitals. With the new EU directive on corporate sustainability reporting (CSRD), these facilities will be required to report their emissions.
To support them, the KliMeG calculator has been available online for free since July 2023. Developed by the Institute for Global Health in Heidelberg and the Institute for General Medicine in Freiburg, the tool allows for easy tracking of emissions, including specific aspects such as anesthetic gases.
The KliMeG calculator has now been nominated for the German Sustainability Award in Health.
