The Federal ‘Blue Compass’ Award 2024 was presented to five outstanding projects from Baden-Württemberg, Brandenburg, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate that offer innovative solutions for prevention and adaptation to the consequences of the climate crisis. The award ceremony took place as part of the ‘Climate Adaptation Week’ in Berlin and was characterised by over 300 applications. Federal Environment Minister Steffi Lemke and UBA President Dirk Messner emphasised the need for immediate action in the face of climate challenges and the importance of joint efforts for effective prevention. In addition to the cash prizes, the winners will receive public relations support, including short films about their projects.
