SUMMARY:UCL Creating Effective Warnings For All Conference
DESCRIPTION:From 11 - 13 September 2023 there will be the UCL Warning Resea
rch Centre's Creating Effective Warnings for All' Conference at the UCL In
stitute of Child Health in London.\n\nThis conference aims to provide an o
pportunity to break down silos between stakeholders\, sectors\, hazard typ
es\, geographies\, and technologies used in warnings to generate better un
derstanding and more effective warnings in the future\, for all. Held at U
CL\, one the world’s leading research institutions\, this conference off
ers research knowledge and skills from within academia\, alongside lessons
from the many stakeholders we work with\, to help explore not just the cr
eation and implementation of warnings\, but how they can be effective\, in
clusive\, sustainable and people-centred. Quality research\, that goes bey
ond a single case study and/or hazard\, and provides evidence-based soluti
ons can provide valuable insights. In addition\, we aim to help bridge res
earch\, action\, and policy to help support the Early Warnings For All ini
tiative alongside UN Sendai Target G\, and the International pandemic agre
ement (WHO CA+).\n\nThe international conference will take place over thre
e days and will focus on effective warnings. It will involve a diverse gro
up of stakeholders from various regions and will have both in-person and v
irtual components. It includes:\n\n Scenario events for delegates to part
ake in and learn in person the challenges and potential solutions for effe
ctive warnings.\n Stakeholder mapping / mind mapping and analysis as part
of 'problem based sessions'.\n Artists / performative events.\n A range
of discursive events including: Games\, Campfires\, Birds of a Feather\,
storytelling\, and ‘Solution Rooms’.\n Other\, more standard conferen
 ce-style events (e.g. focus groups\, workshops)\n\nFor more Information us
