DESCRIPTION:The AFE Research Group\, part of the IIASA Biodiversity and Nat
 ural Resources (BNR) Program\, is looking for a researcher in forest distu
 rbance modeling with an emphasis on wildland fires in Laxenburg (Austria).
 The focus of the AFE Research Group is to generate knowledge and develop s
 tate-of-the-art modeling tools to advance the scientific community and sup
 port policies that enable better understanding and management of global an
 d regional agriculture\, forestry\, and natural land ecosystems.\n\nMain t
 asks and responsebilities:\n\n 	Request and obtain project data from partn
 ers or open-sources.\n 	Process and visualize project data\;.\n 	Contribut
 e to the development of models for other purposes and teams.\n 	Document m
 odel development and methodology.\n 	Contribute to FLAM development in col
 laboration with the current team.\n 	Implement FLAM or related models in v
 arious projects\, including calibration and optimization.\n 	Support the t
 eam in translating FLAM and related models to different programming langua
 ges.\n 	Participate in and contribute to project meetings and deliverables
 .\n 	(Co)-author peer-reviewed publications and deliverables.\n 	Support s
 enior researchers in research activities\n\nA Master's degree (or equivale
 nt) in mathematics\, environmental science or policy\, or a related discip
