DESCRIPTION:Despite growing attention to disaster risk reduction (DRR)\, di
 saster impacts and economic losses continue to rise. Investments in DRR ha
 ve not kept pace with evolving risks\, and many development and financial 
 plans remain risk-blind. The UNDRR session “Fund Resilience\, Not Disast
 ers” explores how financial incentives and innovative insurance instrume
 nts can strengthen investments in resilience and recovery. Best practices 
 from the housing sector illustrate ways to encourage risk-informed local a
 ction. The session aims to identify mechanisms for strategically allocatin
 g resilience funds and ensuring that all forms of development and investme
 nt integrate risk considerations. It targets policymakers\, the private se
 ctor\, academia\, and civil society alike.
