SUMMARY:EUMA Workshop Cross-border humanitarian assistance: Legal and Insti
 tutional Aspects
DESCRIPTION:The inaugural workshop of the EUMA project (Creating a EUropean
  Higher Education Network for MAster´s Programmes in Disaster Risk Manage
 ment)\, devoted to the legal and institutional apsect of cross-border huma
 nitarian assistance is taking place in Pisa\, Italy betwen 11-12th April 2
 024. The outcomes of these disucssions will be incorporated into a final r
 eport\, influencing the curriculum development of the new Master´s progra
 mme. This discussion-based workshop will explore the international legal f
 ramework dealing with disasters and conflicts\, as well as institutional a
 nd operational aspects related to the EU Civil Protection Mechanism and ot
 her international disaster management systems. The workshop\, conducted in
  a hybird format\, will be open to roughly 20 participants\, primarily tar
 geting disaster management professionals\, but also welcoming representati
