SUMMARY:COP31 Side Event: From Sta. Marta to Tuvalu – Resilient implement
 ation through collaboration\, knowledge and science
DESCRIPTION:On 18 November 2026\, the German Committee for Disaster Reducti
 on (DKKV)\, together with the Earth Resilience Institute (ERI)\, will host
  the side event “From Sta. Marta to Tuvalu: Resilient implementation thr
 ough collaboration\, knowledge and science” at COP31 in Antalya\, Türki
 ye. The event brings together policymakers\, legal scholars and scientists
  to explore how commitments to transition away from fossil fuels can be tr
 anslated into effective and resilient implementation.\nBuilding on the fir
 st Conference on Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels in Santa Marta\, the
  discussion will look ahead to the second conference\, hosted by Tuvalu an
 d Ireland in 2027. Participants will examine the political\, legal and sci
 entific conditions that enable implementation\, as well as the barriers th
 at can hinder progress across different regions and contexts.\n\nThe event
  features two panels focusing on policy and regional perspectives as well 
 as science\, law and knowledge cooperation. Through the Earth Resilience I
 nstitute’s participatory systems-mapping approach\, the contributions wi
 ll be brought together into a shared picture of the opportunities and chal
 lenges for resilient implementation.\n\nThe side event offers an opportuni
 ty to connect expertise across regions and disciplines\, strengthen collab
 oration and identify pathways towards putting climate transition commitmen
 ts into practice.\n\nThe event will take place from 13:15 to 14:45 in Side
  Event Room 1 – Gordiyon in Antalya. It is open to all COP31 badge holde
