SUMMARY:Cities on the Frontline – Resilient Cities\, Reimagining Health
DESCRIPTION:Climate change is increasingly posing health challenges for cit
 ies. Extreme heat\, air pollution and flooding affect the physical and men
 tal health of urban populations. At the same time\, the importance of prev
 ention is becoming increasingly clear. Rather than focusing solely on trea
 ting illnesses\, cities need to take proactive measures to identify health
  risks at an early stage and improve the long-term well-being of their pop
 ulations.\nAs part of the “Cities on the Frontline” event series\, the
  session “Resilient Cities\, Reimagining Health” explores how cities c
 an better integrate health considerations into their climate adaptation an
 d resilience strategies. The focus will be on two innovative tools develop
 ed in collaboration with cities: the Climate x Health Impact Dashboard\, w
 hich assesses the climate and health benefits of different interventions\,
  and the Climate x Health Playbook\, which provides practitioners with ste
 p-by-step guidance on integrating health into urban resilience planning.\n
 \nA live demonstration will show how city teams can use these tools in pra
 ctice to establish a local evidence base and translate strategies into con
 crete action. In addition\, a panel of city representatives\, public healt
 h experts and programme partners will discuss how cities can build the cas
 e for preventive action\, secure investment and put these tools into pract
 ice.\n\nThe event provides a platform for international exchange and highl
 ights how innovative tools can help cities address climate risks and publi
 c health challenges together. It underlines the importance of preventive h
 ealth measures as a key component of resilient and sustainable cities.\n\n
