  das sozial-\, natur- und ingenieurwissenschaftliche Perspektiven auf Kata
 strophen- und Klimarisiken zusammenführt\, findet am 24. Juni 2026 statt.
 \n\nDr. Ayse Yildiz von der University of Leicester (GB) spricht über das
  Thema: „From Knowledge to Action: Why Disaster and Climate Education Of
 ten Fails and How We Can Fix It." Dr. Yildiz ist Assistant Professor in Ri
 sk an der University of Leicester und ausgewiesene Expertin für Disaster 
 and Climate Education. Mit über 13 Jahren Erfahrung in Wissenschaft und a
 ngewandtem Katastrophenschutz forscht sie zu Community-basierter Katastrop
 henresilienz\, Risikowahrnehmung und kindgerechter Katastrophenvorsorge 
 – mit Feldforschung u.a. in der Türkei\, Nepal\, Japan\, dem Irak und d
 em Vereinigten Königreich. Sie ist Mitglied im Disaster and Climate Educa
 tion Network (DCEN) und Mitherausgeberin des 2024 bei Springer erschienene
 n Bandes „Disaster and Climate Risk Education: Insights from Knowledge t

 k\, the lecture series organised by the Centre for Interdisciplinary Disas
 ter Research (CIDR) at RPTU\, which brings together perspectives from the 
 social sciences\, natural sciences and engineering on disaster and climate
  risks\, will take place on 24 June 2026.\n\nDr. Ayse Yildiz from the Univ
 ersity of Leicester (UK) will speak on the topic: “From Knowledge to Act
 ion: Why Disaster and Climate Education Often Fails and How We Can Fix It.
 ” Dr Yildiz is an Assistant Professor of Risk at the University of Leice
 ster and a recognised expert in disaster and climate education. With over 
 13 years’ experience in academia and applied disaster risk management\, 
 she conducts research on community-based disaster resilience\, risk percep
 tion and child-friendly disaster preparedness – with fieldwork in Turkey
 \, Nepal\, Japan\, Iraq and the United Kingdom\, amongst other places. She
  is a member of the Disaster and Climate Education Network (DCEN) and co-e
 ditor of the volume “Disaster and Climate Risk Education: Insights from 
 Knowledge to Action”\, published by Springer in 2024.\n\nYou can registe
