 ral Hazards\, Vulnerability and Disasters: Interdisciplinary Perspectives
 “ bietet im Sommersemester 2026 eine interdisziplinäre Einführung in z
 entrale Fragestellungen rund um Naturgefahren\, Verwundbarkeit und Katastr
 ophen. Ziel der Veranstaltungsreihe ist es\, sowohl fundiertes Fachwissen 
 zu vermitteln als auch unterschiedliche disziplinäre Perspektiven aus Geo
 graphie\, Klima- und Umweltwissenschaften\, Sozialwissenschaften und Recht
 swissenschaften zusammenzuführen.\nDie Reihe richtet sich insbesondere an
  Bachelor- und Masterstudierende der Circle U.-Partneruniversitäten sowie
  an alle Interessierten mit Bezug zu den Themen Risiko\, Resilienz und Kat
 astrophenvorsorge. Internationale Expert:innen geben in wöchentlichen Vor
 trägen Einblicke in ihre Forschung und beleuchten theoretische sowie prax
 isorientierte Ansätze im Umgang mit Naturgefahren und deren gesellschaftl
 ichen Auswirkungen.\nJede Sitzung findet auf Englisch statt und besteht au
 s einem etwa 45- bis 60-minütigen Vortrag mit anschließender Diskussions
 runde. Thematisch reichen die Beiträge von sozialer Verwundbarkeit und Un
 gleichheit über naturgeographische Risiken bis hin zu aktuellen Fragen wi
 e dem Einsatz von Künstlicher Intelligenz im Katastrophenrisikomanagement
  oder den Wechselwirkungen von Klimawandel und humanitären Krisen.\nDie V
 eranstaltungen finden ab dem 22. April 2026 jeweils mittwochs von 16:45 bi
 s 18:15 Uhr online sowie teilweise in präsent an der Universität Wien st
 att und sind offen für alle Interessierten. Den Abschluss der Reihe bilde
 t eine gemeinsame Reflexion der interdisziplinären Perspektiven Ende Juni

 tural Hazards\, Vulnerability and Disasters: Interdisciplinary Perspective
 s” offers an interdisciplinary introduction to key issues surrounding na
 tural hazards\, vulnerability and disasters during the summer semester of 
 2026. The aim of the series is both to impart sound specialist knowledge a
 nd to bring together different disciplinary perspectives from geography\, 
 climate and environmental sciences\, social sciences and law.\n\nThe serie
 s is aimed in particular at Bachelor’s and Master’s students at Circle
  U partner universities\, as well as anyone interested in the topics of ri
 sk\, resilience and disaster preparedness. In weekly lectures\, internatio
 nal experts will provide insights into their research and highlight theore
 tical and practice-oriented approaches to dealing with natural hazards and
  their societal impacts.\n\nEach session will be held in English and will 
 consist of a presentation lasting approximately 45 to 60 minutes\, followe
 d by a discussion. The topics covered will range from social vulnerability
  and inequality to physical geographical risks\, as well as current issues
  such as the use of artificial intelligence in disaster risk management or
  the interplay between climate change and humanitarian crises.\n\nThe even
 ts will take place from 22 April 2026\, every Wednesday from 4.45 pm to 6.
 15 pm\, both online and\, in some cases\, in person at the University of V
 ienna\, and are open to all interested parties. The series will conclude w
 ith a joint reflection on the interdisciplinary perspectives at the end of
