Sabine Lackner will become the new president of the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) on July 1, 2023, succeeding Gerd Friedsam, who is retiring. She is thus the first woman to head the federal agency.
Lackner has been working for THW since 2001. Initially, she took over the management of foreign projects and international cooperation. This was followed by the head of the unit for training and, from 2016, the office of the regional representative for the THW regional association Bremen/Lower Saxony. In 2020, she was appointed vice president.
